X600SE, mobility 5.10, and anti aliasing in a window

Hi. Using Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 w/ an x600SE and the mobility 5.10's or 5.9's, Direct3d applications drop to 1 FPS whenever they are run in a window and anti-aliasing is enabled. Full screen D3D apps have no problem with AA.

OpenGL apps have no problem. Anyone run into this?

Also, my x600SE is 64+64hypermemory but the drivers show 256. Anyone seen this as well? Are there any good utilities to dtermine *exactly* how much hypermemory is being used? DirectX and all built in utilities to Windows report 256 megs.

S.

System Specs

When you go to Control Panel - System, you should see how much RAM you have available to Windows. Anything not there is reserved for video card FrameBuffer.

As to windowed AA issue - many times certain programs do not properly use D3D when running in windowed mode, using DirectDraw instead (which certainly kills performance).

Have you tried dxdiag D3D test? Does it work properly without dropping the frames?

yup all DXdiag tests work fine. I doubt these aplications are using just Directdraw for Windowed mode, its any D3D application. Counterstrike: Source, Age of Empires 3, etc. They work just great in a window as long as you turn off AA.
