Options for Mobility 9200? (games in windowed mode, forcing three monitors, etc.)
Mobility Radeon 9200 64 MB
Intel Pentium M 1.5 GHz 80 GB HD 1024 MB RAM Max Screen Res. = 1680x1050 These are my system specs. I've been having the problem with the new drivers past 5.6 like most other 9200 users and managed to fix it by using PowerStrip to set the pixel clock to the correct frequency. The problem is that most games don't support 16:10 ratio resolutions like mine. In fact, the only game I can run without a problem is HL2 since it supports 16:10 widescreen resolutions. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to run other games, that only go up to 1280x1024, in windowed mode? I've tried this with other games that have that option and they run fine without distortion. Also, most of these problems stem from the fact that the drivers from 5.7 on up don't detect the notebooks LCD screen. I've used PowerStrip to write custom moniter driver files which work fine, but the Omega drivers only detect a monitor and a TV. With 5.6 on down it detected an LCD, Monitor, and TV, with them listed as Plug and Play, Default Monitor, and Generic TV in the Device Manager respectively. Is there any way to add this third LCD Plug and Play monitor manually since the new Catalyst and Omega drivers don't add three different monitors like it used to before on notebooks? |
