Quick question: What's the best driver for power saving on my laptop?
I have been using Omega drivers and underclocking.... Would the Mobility drivers be better? Do they automatically underclock? How much? |

Yes, mobility has "PowerPlay" enabled, Omega doesn't support this feature... "PowerPlay" would automaticaly underclock GPU when you run on battery power...

Best program for HotKeys?
Next Question:
What's the best application for hotkeys? Specifically, I need a hotkey for Extend Desktop and Clone I used to use ATI Tray Tools with the Omega driver. Would this app work with the official mobility driver? |

Hi everyone,
I have similar question as TS. I've just ordered a laptop with Pentium M 750 (1.86GHz) with 1GB mem, Ati Mobility Radeon X800XT and smart Li-Ion 8 cells 4400mAH battery. I will save CPU power with Centrino Hardware Control (CHC). And I'm also looking for the best tool/driverset to underclock my GPU to save power. There are some options: -ATI Mobility drivers with Powerplay -An option in CHC (but with which drivers?) -AtiTool (but with which drivers?) Who can advise which option is most powersaving/stable/easy to use? I would prefer that the GPU automatically runs at low speeds Windows/2D and for games/3D it switches to original speeds. |
