Max ATI Mobility 9600 pro external resolution

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 with the mobility 9600 pro turbo 128meg. My native laptop res is 1680x1050 but from what I can tell on ATI's web site the max external resolution for this card is 1600x1200. Is this correct? I've been eying that DELL UltraSharp 2405FPW 24-inch Wide Aspect Flat Panel LCD Monitor but it has a res of 1900x1200. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...tegory_id=4009

Can my 9600 drive this monitor? Do the Omega drivers unlock resolutions not normally supported or is this a hardware limitation? Finally, if I was to use the dell monitor would it still look OK (horizontal resolution matches native res at 1200 and then I'd have a black band on either side of the monitor)?

Hi,

I got the same Laptop, except my internal LCD also has 1920x1200. I also have an external Philips TFT-Display that supports 1920x1200. With the DNA-Drivers there is no problem to use 1920x1200 via the docking-stations DVI-Out.

Thanks! That's good to hear since I already pulled the trigger on the 24" Dell. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow.
