Composite out with Radeon 9000 on Inspiron 600m

There is an annoying problem with composite out. Is there any way to to "force" tv-out on this? With s-video to composite converter, my TV does not activate TV.

I could not install catalyst drivers from ATI. I updated with the latest drivers from Dell.

More Detailed description:
---------------------------------

I can get TV out fine on S-Video. The problem is with composite out.

I have the 7-pin split cable that has both S-Video and composite out at the other end.

First problem is that when I connect composite out on my tv, I can not select "TV" under "Dislays" section. I have to connect S-Video for "TV" tab under "Diplays" screen to be active. Second problem is that after selecting TV like this I can disconnect s-video on tv and connect the Yellow composite out and I get black & white picture. Second problem is not a big deal (though it not what is advertized) since I can always connect through S-Video to composite converter.

First problem is the annoying one. If my TV has only composite and no s-video, there is no way to activate TV-Out under "Displays" section. How do I force TV-Out?

Thanks,
Raghu.

Updated to the latest ATI drivers using the modder on this site. Still the problem is the same. Anyone seen this?

System Specs

Could be a bad cable...
