Anyone familiar with this board? I'd like to tweak the cpu settings just a bit. Auto settings is 166 with a 6.5 multipier ? Isn't that a bit low ?..Sandra pro rates it's performance somewhere between a 1.8 and 2.2 p4

It seems this bios can unlock the cpu or the cpu came unlocked because I have full access to the multiplier. When I change the setting from auto to menu & user defined I get a cpu over speed warning even if I don't touch the actual settings and have to disable the halt on errors in the bios so it will post..I believe it's a known issue with this bios though. What I'm asking my my rambling way it whats a good multiplier setting ?

Sandra's mem benchies puts the rams performance about 130 points below what they have the nforce2 chipset rated at so I'm guessing the timings are pretty good.

I have 8x agp and fastwrites on/enabled but for some weird reason there is no option to enable sidebanding..

Hdds are operating at udma 5 instead of 6 ..not sure if it's because I put both drives at cable select or that they are different models ..Not really worried about it though since there is'nt much difference between ata 100 and 133.
* fixed the udma problem seems Asus didn't include the ide driver in thier updated 1.16 drivers, installed it off the disk and now udma 6 (ata 133)

I'd appreciate any info on what bios your using and settings. Thanks in advance

I hope everyones having a great weekend!

I've already done most of my house "upgrades".

1. New Trane Furnace & Central Air

2. New Siding plus a new room has been added on.

I'm still working on "modding" the new room.

You'll have a sweet rig when yer done, sacrilius
I didn't have the patience to wait on a barton.

Nice Necrosis I'd best not let the wife see yer post she'll get more ideas and I won't be allowed to build a rig for 7 years

Hmm forgot to add my pc mark score in my first post

Thanks Vampyromaniac

I took a break from creative's drivers and didn't install my Audigy1. I'm using the onboard SoundStorm..Sounds very good 2 drawbacks though

1 Asus miswired the outputs and I have to rout the centerspeaker/bass through the mic jack instead of the proper output.Otherwise the center speaker is muffled.

2 Ut2K3 had better soundplacement with Hardware/Eax enabled.

I just broke 15K twice after moving my mem stick from the 1&2 slot to 1&3.
Got the timing set to 5-2-2-2T
Unfortunately I get some can't publish error

Well Dark you just helped me out if you know it or not.

My center speaker is muffled too and I haven't really looked into it. Now I don't have to!

Thanks man.

Glad to have helped you out..Rambling sometimes pays off

I flashed to the 1002 uber bios... It didn't get rid of the ! motherboard resource in the device manager. However it is much more stable than the shipped 1001g. I can change bios settings now without it hanging up intermittently. I know it doesn't seem to hurt anything but it annoys me everytime I look at it..Hope Asus releases a bios fix for it.
