which dfi xfire mobo

which is better
LANPARTY UT CFX3200-DR/G

or

LANPARTY UT RDX200 CF-DR

ok ,know the ut rdx200 is older and has only sata1 and some usb speed issues

other than that,which is better
and second question, does the either mobo allow you to update bios through windows based program rather than dos based with floppy

i'm not sure about windows baed bios updates. But the LANPARTY UT CFX3200-DR/G is the better board.More features.Better overclocking.2 pci-e 16x slots.More sata ports.
So basically its the better board.

got the cfx3200
reformatted the drive im useing for wins
which is ide drive
everything when well ,till i installed the uli drivers and raid utitily
im only useing 2 ide drives and i sata drive as all i need for now
was told i dont need the raid utitly
any ways this time my mobo failed to boot, just hangs
couldnt getinto to windows
even with format of drive, still had probs
had to fdisk it and restall windows, installed directx9c and lan drivers off dfi cd and dotnet, let windows install its own drivers[ali drivers]
will have to play with setting to get my mushkin pc3500 level2 black memory to work as i cant boot with 4 x512 sticks
can get 3 x 512 sticks to work when i disable command per clock in bios ,but after 10 mins get hardware blue screen,so for now ,using 2 x512 sticks till i sort
my bios on cfx3200 xfire is 25/04/06
is it worth updating to new 27/08/06 bios
why does ti take 2-5 mins from post to windows, after post ,just sits there with black screen for 2-5 mins

System Specs

My "DFI Lanparty UT CFX3200-DR Socket 939 ATI CrossFire Radeon Xpress 3200" came in last Thursday!!!

When I first put the DFI motherboard in my system it saw my IDE drive just fine. Even though I could boot into Microsoft MCE2005 it was time for a reformat, so that is what I
did! Fresh install went fine.

The first thing I did when I got the board was flash the BIOS. I did this before I installed anything.

I did not use the DFI CD for anything. I went to DFI and downloaded all the latest packages.

The one package "ULI_M1575_F6" I used to create a floppy driver disk but I really did not need to do that. Still this is the only software for the ULI SATA driver I loaded. The full ULI package has an older version of the driver so I skipped doing that.

I have a 160GB IDE hard drive which 100GB is used for the MCE2005 OS.
I have Fedora Core 6 on the other 60GB.
I have four ~320GB SATA drives in Raid-0 off of the ULI controller.

I also installed the CFX3200_AUDIO and MARVELL_LAN drivers.

Yeah I know... I have a XFI PRO Elite... so why install the onboard HD AUDIO?
Well Linux works fine with the onboard audio and Windows MCE2005 does not have a problem with both sound cards enabled so I am using them both!

Oh... I also don't have the stall problem on boot that you described.
Now my ASUS A8R-MVP had the stall problem but the new DFI motherboard is fast on reboot. No hangs!

I have not done much overclocking yet but I was able to get a lot of extra performace out of my RAM at stock!

My CPU temperature is also running nice and low. Im reading between 25c and 28c with Smartguardian!

The DFI motherboard replaced my ASUS A8R-MVP on my main system.
I now have the ASUS A8R-MVP is now in my new test system.
My wife's system is still using the ASUS A8R-MVP.

@kelticknight-I can't figure out what ur problem is.Especially if u aren't running raid. Its best to updtae to the latestbios as it might solve ur problems.
4x 512 configs won't work with 1T timings in the memory options. Also i would suggest u sell ur 4 x512 sticks and get urself a 2x1 GB kit if u can.Not necessary but better.
Well for now get ur bios updated.Uninstall the uli drivers. And reinstall the latest version from the net

the 3200 series is definitely going to have more advantages..

but imo,

updateing the bios through a floppy using onboard bios flash utility, rocks.

ok guys
for some reason, most is sorted
got windows installed to my ide drive, found out had to wipe with fdisk as format installed windows ,but still had probs
when i fdisk it and reformat it then, all was well, this never happened before and was straight, might have been some files in dos hidden that caused a coflict

installed windows, other software for other hardware, let windows install drivers for controllers, had disabled command per clock in bios to let use t2
even with this ,can only use 3 x512 sticks of mushkin pc3500 level 2 black memory, wont run 4 sticks for now, will get 2 sticks of mushkin pc4000 of 1gig
after xmass when i have some cash after xmass
windows looked for drivers for sat controller and raid and just loaded in dfi cd and it found it
at thsi moment everything running ok
still have bios at 25.04.06

4x 512mb can make life difficult for the memory controller so going with 2 x1 GB will make compatability a bit easier.
I'd go with the G.Skill ZX 2 x 1GB kit.Its known to overclock well.
2nd would be the OCZ 2 x 1GB kit.
I suggest u wait for replies from people with more insight into the RD580 chipset than eye.
U should also check the ASUS A8R-32 MVP thread.

ddr2 won't work on that motherboard. As for the A-DATA ram, athlon processors socket 939 benefit more from tight latencies than the additional bandwidth.U should get PC3200 cas 2.5 ram.
Like G.SKill i mentioned.

like i said the extra bandwidth is good but for socket 939 athlons the performance increase is better with tighter latencies.

Get the A-DATA.They are more reputed compared to cell shock. But i seriously suggest u go with tighter latency models from OCZ or G.Skill.And they use the micron chips which have best compatability.
