All Asus A7v8x Users are you pissed at Your Hardlocked 32 AGP Aperature size !

Yeah thats right.

in the latest bios 1112-Beta5 they have hardlocked the AGP size to 32mbit..

now its to my understanding that for a 9700 Pro that uses 128DDR would be better suited to 64mbit Agp.....

----------------------------------------

my question is why did asus do this ?
and is there a fix to allow 64bit other than downgradeing the bios ? and if so to what revision ?

im puzzled :...................

i dunno but apeture is equal to amount of memory on the card so 9700 pro should be 128 not even 64 =p

Don't get the beta

go back to the previous bios, wait for the full release. They may have just screwd up.

Crash Override is an unknown quantity at this point

actually the old general rule of thumb has been set your apperature to 1/2 of your system ram unless you have a vid card with 128/256MB of video ram

Zardon

Using the 1012.06 bios on an Asus A7v8x wont let me go over 32. I tried flashing back to a different bios but I got a black screen. Should I clear the cmos and try again? TIA for any help. ATI 9700 Pro 128 meg card if that helps.
