intel 946-gzis motherboard?

Looking into getting this board to replace my dead AsRock 775 dual. Any one have any experinces with this board for a duo 2 core E6600 or hear anything about them? Just looking for advice on if this is a solid board, i havent been able to find any reviews on it.

It's not a bad board. Now that the Intel D101GGC and D102GGC2 boards are no longer avaiable (which used the ATI Xpress chipset) I've switched to using this board for my low end/basic systems. There are 4 distinct issues I have with it. First, it doesn't support DDR2 800. Second, it can be very, very finiky about ram. Specifically, if you decide to buy ram for this board, don't buy OCZ. Third, being based on the 945 chipset it is surprising slower than it should be. Lastly, it only has 2 memory slots. Thankfully it supports Dual Channel, but again, you only get 2 slots. Baring that, it's a very solid board.

My advice though would be to take a look at the 965 chipset boards instead such as the DP965RYCK. This particiluar board is roughly $40 dollars more, but supports DDR2 800, IEEE support (Firewire), Gigabit Lan (10/100/1000), and has an additional PCI (1) slot, as well as 2 more PCIE 1x slots. There is, however, one tiny problem: the IDE connector is at the bottom of the board. As such, if you use a tall computer tower you will need to be sure to grab a yourself an extra long IDE cable (24 incher should do you).
