Intel Motherboard opinions?
I am looking to upgrade to my first Intel based system. I will save some money by going a lower end route with the CPU which can be over clocked anyway. Same with the Memory. My major concern is the complex mess that is the Intel chipset and motherboard market. Which is the best for the money for over clocking and stability and upgradability? I have not made my decision on whether to go Crossfire or SLI at this time. So I am open there (still waiting on new ATI video cards)
So, what are your opinions? |

975 based intel or asus board. just make sure they r the rev that will take duo core proc. wich shouldnt be an issue if u order from mainstream suppliers.

My choice would be an Asus (P5B-E, P5B-D) or Abit AB9 pro, P965 boards with ICH8R southbridge.
I am not a fan of crossfire or SLI so having 2 x PCI-e 16x slots is overkill. I prefer the Intel chipset over the Nvidia i680 because of the advantage of running Matrix RAID with two HDD. There seems to be an issue with the BIOS with Abit and Intel badaxe so I think the leader right now is Asus.
