Asus A8R-MVP 0602 new bios (no onboard sound)

Well I have Vista 64 Ultimate, been having minor annoyances, like no drivers for my onboard sound that work. (Only got 2 speakers out of 5.1) Everything else for the most part hasn't been that bad. Till now.

I noticed they had a new Asus A8R-MVP bios out ver 0602. I just flashed my bios and when I booted, no sound. No device listed for sound at all in the device manager. I just sold my X-FI because it was crap, always crashed my machine (long story). The only sound I had was onboard, now nothing.

What's up with that?

Just wanted to add my experience with PCI cards and this board. This board does not like PCI cards tried 3 different Soundblaster cards constant computer reboots, even tried a TV tuner card in it same thing. I stick with on board since I always wear headphone when gaming.

There is a newer BIOS -- 701 -- for the ASUS A8R-MVP. At least for the one I'm using.

Check here to start for the search: http://support.asus.com/

And, for the record, my ASUS DOES use onboard RealTek.

It should be RealTek. That's what my ASUS A8R MVP board uses.
