A7N8X DX better video

I have an a7n8x dx with 512 corsair 3200LL. and a 9700 pro. I have my ram in sync mode with the 1002a bios. I get better video performance leaveing the FSB at 166 than moveing up to 175. My games seem to run faster at 166 than moveing my fsb up. The system will run great at 175 but a little slower. My bios says perfromance ddr enabled at 166 fsb. and at 175 it says "ram 175". should i move my ram to slot 1 and 2. not sync mode if i bump up my fsb. The system runs like a dream but what do you think is causeing lower frams at a higher fsb than 166 if nothing else has changed uther than going from 166 to 170 or 175. May be the ram placement i dont know.
