Asus p5b MB and power supply issues

I just bought the Asus p5b mb and found out that the 12 or 24 pin power connector on my PSU doesnt fit the slot 100%. there are still some space left (about 4 pins ) i was wondering if i need a new PSU to use da Mb or to run windows. or is da extra pin just for more voltage for hungry power user with higher end mb, video card or cpu ??

btw my system is:

core 2 dual e6600
2 gb kingston DDR2 dual channel
450W PSU
Asus p5b mb
geforce 7600 gs

thanks in advance

If it were mine, I'd get a PSU with the proper power plug/s. That's just me, though.

Does the manual for the mobo have any option for using the 20-pin connector of your PSU? Some do. I'm not sure of that particular mobo, though.
