RTL8187 WiFi-AP Solo ~ And general advice.
Okay so I recently installed Vista Ultimate, i have had quite a few problems with the drivers I need in order to get things running as smoothly as before. My graphics are good, so is my sound, etc.
The main problem I get is that most of the applications I use along with my hardware are trying to be funny with me! I have a M2N32-SLi Deluxe motherboard that has a built in RTL8187 Wireless adapter, whitch is pretty cool when the WiFi-AP Solo application wants to work with it. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? I am also having problems with the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi programs which stop me from configure my speaker setup, etc. Also another thing, I think I may have messed up the vista install. I didn't create a new partition but I think the old OS may still be installed with all its contents somewhere on my hard drive, anyone know how to check this or to delete the data? Thanks in advance for any advice .System Specs; Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz Motherboard: M2N-SLi Deluxe Graphics: 2 x nVIDIA GeForce 7900GTX (SLi) Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty OS: Vista Ultimate Ver 6.0 |

Ah yes I believe my Asus P5W DH uses the same card. Ugh..don't even try using all the junk software for it. Just install the driver, and let Vista do the rest.
You might want to check out the Pax driver re-pack for Vista: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/audio-ge...available.html Last but not least look for a folder called "Windows.old" |

Okay, So i now have the systems connecting but they wont assign default gateways! therefore I am unable to connect to the net on the other machines. Assining the IP address automatically is set on auto.

Glad you got it figured out. BTW, stay away from the Window's updates for it.

Looking to get a new external router/modem.
Was looking at the Billion BIPAC 5200G (specifications in link). Would I be able to host a wireless access point form that model even when my system is shutdown? Thanks again lol, sorry for being a pain. |

Using an external router would mean that the router itself becomes the AP and no machine needs to be on for the AP to function
