Dlink DI-624 won't connect my xbox360 to xbox live
I have a Dlink DI-624 (not DI-624+) rev. C2 router, and i've been having this issue. I've also noticed that whenever i try to connect to XBL, that my computers lose connectivity.
so, i've been searching this issue for a few hours already trying to get my 360 online. i'm hooked up with an ethernet cable directly to my router. Basically, whenever i go to connect to XBL, on the final test it won't connect me. i've found a few fixes, but neither of them work. One fix is to change the UDP and TCP settings to the following: UDP - 88 UDP - 3074 TCP - 3074 Now, i've done that already, and still nothing. The other is to downgrade the router's firmware to 2.75, but i can't seem to find that one. And the link provided on that post is dead now .are there any other possible things i could try to try and get this fixed? EDIT: i've also tried hooking up my 360 directly to my modem and that's even worse. it won't let me get online! going through my router, it passes all tests until it gets to the XBL section of the test, then does what i described above. Mirror links no good. Still checking. UPDATE: I "think" this may get you what you're looking for: ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk/di_broadband_g...DI-624_rev_cx/

i'll go ahead and give some of those beta ones a try, but i'm not sure if they will work. on xbox's website, there's a list of different firmware versions that are XBL capable.
i'll make myself a backup of my current firmware just in case... |

hehe, i got my router settings fixed!
![]() i had to manually give my 360 it's own IP address and DNS server address instead of the router assigning those values. i still have the UDP TCP settings to the ones listed above on my previous post. |

So I seem to be having the same problems, the only thing is that I'm a complete novice at networking.
Can you give me a quick 1-2-3 on how to manually give my Xbox 360 it's own IP address and DNS server address? I don't mean to be "one of those guys" but I've had my Xbox 360 and a laptop w/ Windows MCE for almost a year and I've never been able to get it set up. It keeps giving me the "try again" message. I'm sure it has something to do w/ my router and/or firewall, and since you have the same router as me (DI-624) I think your fix may help me out... I have not yet tried to downgrade my firmware to 2.75 (currently running 2.76)...Thanks boricua365 |

CDs: Did you see your 360 on the PC Network and assign IP there, or did you have to go into the router to configure it? As I don't actually play on the 360 (my son does!) I haven't really delved into working with the actual setup for it.

i know this is a bit of an old thread, but i still get PMs from time to time asking me about how to configure this particular router. Here is an update as to what my router settings are in addition to what was already posted above.
Is DMZ disabled or enabled? I suggest that you set DMZ to disabled. what are the other settings set up on your router? What about DHCP? Is that enabled or disabled? I suggest that you have that enabled. You might also want to check your router's "Advanced Applications" settings (pic below) and set the trigger port to 88-3074 and the public port to 3074 and all the other stuff that's in the pic. ![]() Hope this helps!

yeah now that you mention it I ran into this problem a lot when the original xboxes were first coming around. They would take forever to get working and then have lots of problems with kicking others off of the network .

Thank you, this worked!
First, I'd like to say, "Thank you," for this advice because your solution worked and it was actually kinda simple.
I've never replied to a web thread/forum before, but after experiencing so many problems with XBox live I promised myself that if I found a solution to this problem I would spread the word. I plan to post a detailed response, but for now the solution is: 1. From your router settings, assign a static IP to the XBox 360 console 2. Edit the network settings on your XBox 360 and enter the IP information MANUALLY. 3. Test Last edited by MIG-31; Sep 7, 2008 at 09:38 PM. Re: Dlink DI-624 won't connect my xbox360 to xbox live
Just to post another possible solution / combination that is working now. I upgraded the firmware to the latest from the DLINK site which at this time is 2.76. I was not able to connect to live either. I performed all the suggestions above to no avail.
However, I then downgraded the firmware to version 2.75 and it connected right away, I seem to be ok now. You find the link above in this thread as well. I don't know if you need all the other configurations, but now that they are done and everything is working, I am not going to press my luck by removing them. Oh, BTW. The only thing I didn't do was configure the IP manually. Could not even connect to the internet let alone xbox live. So, that was left on auto and the rest was added. Re: Dlink DI-624 won't connect my xbox360 to xbox live
the manual IP settings are all done through the XBOX's network settings itself. not on the router side of things.

Re: Dlink DI-624 won't connect my xbox360 to xbox live
Thanks for all the help on this forum.
do what CDsDontBurn pics have and just manually input your ip address, gateway, DNS . copy everything from the command Ipconfig/all and change your ip address. Nice thanks everyone for posting I finally got the NXe update to work. |

Re: Dlink DI-624 won't connect my xbox360 to xbox live
i would say that the conclusion to this kind of problem is... not everything is done by auto config
... sometimes you have to get your hands dirty... hahahahahha

Re: Dlink DI-624 won't connect my xbox360 to xbox live
Hi, I have a very weird problem.
I have the Di-624 and have tried all the steps shown above. Xbox live worked for about a month. Then suddenly I was unable to connect and I reset my Di-624 rev C into its factory settings. I re-did all the steps shown above but this time I get a message where my NAT is strict. I have never had that before. I have downgraded to version 2.75 but NAT is still strict. I cannot play XboxLive anymore help me out someone please! |

Re: Dlink DI-624 won't connect my xbox360 to xbox live
I had the same problem and thanks to CDsDontBurn I was able to get this working...I even had the NAT problem and I fixed it by using Port Forwarding. Use the following link NAT Help- Haximo and CapwnD | Get Help opening your ports in your router to configure it. BTS, I am using firmware 2.76. Remember that it's important to setup your Network Configuration to MANUAL in the XB360. Good luck.
