Needing a new Mobo.

Hey there everyone, Im rebuilding my computer thats about 4 years old. So almost everything is getting replaced. I dont have tones of money to do it with or anything tho. I mostly spend my time playing games like Bioshock, Crysis, things along those lines. I'm looking for a Mobo (pci/pci-e) (duh) that will support playing games like this on relativly high settings. Any ideas out there for what exactly I am needing? I'm not terribly computer smart where it comes to the hardware aspect of it but I know enough. Thanks for any help i get guys

well, seeing that you'll need a whole new system, you can't upgrade just the motherboard. also, you mentioned you don't have oodles of money to just blow on new hardware, so let us know what kind of budget you have for a new system build and we'd be able to help you a bit further

but, without knowing, here's what i would get for myself now.....you could probably go along the same lines

intel p35 chipset or NVIDIA 780i chipset motherboard
intel e8400
2GB of RAM
8800GTS 512MB video card (you can get two of these if you go with the 780i and your pocket can spend the extra cash)
600w PSU (minimum wattage)
2x150GB Raptor-X HDDs for RAID 0 config
SATA DVD burner

other than that, you still need other peripherals, like a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers

Nice run down, CDs. I really like the list, however to save more money I would dump the Raptor X drives. Something about paying $60 more for a clear box bugs the crap outta me. For $190 you can get the standard Raptor drive instead, and put that $120 total towards something else.

As for motherboard, the P35 chipset is a solid one to go with, and my money would be on a Gigabyte board (or Intel directly if you don't intend to overclock). The GA-P35-DS3R is a great little board that should cost you around $130, and has RAID support, while the GA-P35-DS3L would run you about $95, but has no RAID support.
