Robert,
That looks like a good site you're buying from. That setup looks good to me even though I prefer AMD and Nvidia. I would recommend getting yourself the Creative X-Fi 24 bit audio card if you can afford it, but of course this is just a recommendation. I can't really think of anything else to add. |

Not nearly worth what your paying, seriously. You're getting ripped off. A 1200 dollar computer can be so much better.
Hell, give me 1200 dollars, I'll build you a computer and keep the insane difference. That'll make 2 people happy. You live in Michigan, too, so shipping would be speedy.

The system is ok (although I'm not sure about having three memory sticks, they can't run in dual channel mode if there is an odd number of them, right?), but, as the people had already told you, it's a bit too pricey. Check those components on newegg and see for yourself.
![]() If you choose to order the components and build the system yourself, people here will gladly help (and there's already a guide and there are instructive videos on youtube showing how to mount a CPU... and, basically, you can't fit a component in a wrong place, if it fits, it should be there). Also, in that case, you could make some minor adjustments: multimeter displays are the kind of extras that have limited functionality, yet come at a price (still, if you like that kind of stuff, they do look nice), the motherboard is also relatively expensive though no longer high end, so you could get an X38 one for the money (but it's quite ok too, and wireless is important to you so it can stay as well), 600W is not necessary for this system, a good 500W PSU would be more than adequate.

That's more like it.
Your new PSU will leave you much of a headroom for future upgrades, it should be able to run 8800GTS SLI without problems. (On the other hand, you won't be running SLI on that motherboard, as it only supports crossfire.) Speaking of the board, it's got a pretty complete feature set, but the chipset is now two and a half years old. So I'd suggest you rather stick to the board you previously had in mind Newegg.com - ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail, as it's newer, a bit cheaper and has WiFi, or to switch to something like this Gigabyte board Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard - Retail (from the experiences of people I know, stable, good performing and capable of achieving good overclocks, yet much cheaper), or this one Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-EX38-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail (based on the new X38 chipset, but with DDR2 support so that you don't need to change the memory, OC friendly). I also must add that none of these boards are SLI capable, so if you are interested in having that option, you need a board with Nvidia's chipset.

Nice price on the case, but unless you "just have to have" the looks of the 900, the new Coolermaster CM590 is going to be just as good or better, or even the somewhat older CM690.
CM590: Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Centurion 590 RC-590-KKN1-GP Black SECC / ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail CM690: Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail Add a Corsair PSU and you will be good to go ![]() Either of those two cases and a Corsair HX modular are a match made in heaven for cable management. Note the cutouts in the MB tray on both cases to help with that. Something the 900 doesn't have. Just my humble opinion, and somewhat biased, as I have a CM690 and Corsair 620HX. Plus, I'm older than dirt , and I like the more understated styling of the Coolermaster cases

Hello All
I would recommend a good system myself with all the specs, but I see that all of you have a liking to the Intel and ATI chipsets so I might get rubbed off by somebody. I'm an AMD and Nvidia fan myself.

Man, for like 60 more dollars you could get a 8800.
Still cheap considering you were gonna spend 1200.

Question is make sure I get right case for that long card? You sure 500 watts is enough? lol. I have 430watts on my old gateway right now. ![]() Newegg.com - Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 ATX12V 650W Power Supply with Three 12V Rails 100 - 240 V UL, CUL, FCC, TUV, CE, C-tick, CCC, CB - Retail How that instead of the 500 watts?

![]() Go with the Corsair. The 650TX is the same price as the Trio, and a hell of a lot better PSU. Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX ATX12V / EPS12V 650W Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CE, CB, TUV, FCC, CCC - Retail As for a case that will take a long vid card, either the Coolermaster 590 and 690 will do that with ease. Here's a pic of a 690 with a LONG vid card installed. Note that it extends past the MB and there is still plenty of room. Also, even tho he didn't do it, he could have routed the 24-pin thru the hole in the MB tray for a bit tidier cable management. This pic does a pretty good job of showing just how well the Corsair HX's and the 690 are matched. The TX series cables won't be quite as easy to manage since they aren't modular. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...9/P1010282.jpg The 590 would be similar other than in that the HDDs are mounted in a different orientation.

Your Q6600 will drop by $50.00 by then, which in turn you could get the 9600 725MHz core Zotac.
