Re: Early look at Intel's P45 motherboards. [56k Warning!]
hay panging, hows the dpc latency look with all that running, specifically all the cpu-z's. CPU-z still sets mine off, though not nearly as bad a earlier bios.
hows the vdroop on the board? |

Re: Early look at Intel's P45 motherboards. [56k Warning!]
DPC latency spikes are still here, but never that much higher nor never too high at all the time.
as for the hows the vdroop on the board? i don't Enable the LLC in BIOS at all for this board, so there will be quite a bit vdroop/vdrop, however, as i like to try following Intel's that, LLC should be disabled. and i find there is a good thing on this board about it, since i've never find a problem in overclocking and i can get the system to be a stable quite easily. couldn't disable LLC in P5Q-D's BIOS, i also leave it enabled in the EX38-DS4 as well, otherwise, it would not easy for overclocking and stable the systems. overclock with this board can be quite different, it could be very easy or very hard, it's kinda complicate to explain it all to you, so i'm not going into that until you get the board yourself. lol, i'm not trying to selling you another board, but it's only 100USD or so i believe. |

Re: Early look at Intel's P45 motherboards. [56k Warning!]
[hobo]eclipse, about the vdroop on the board please see example below.
![]() look at the vcore voltage setting in the ET6 window... Power On - 1.3250v, this is the vcore voltage that is set in BIOS before booting into Windows Target - 1.35v, this's the voltage value that you set the BIOS (change BIOS's setting) by youself in Windows. BIOS 1.35v = CPU-Z 1.312v (and it will be around 1.29x-1.28v when the CPU is fully loaded) i believe this is normal and this's not actually indicate a poor-quality board or a lesser power phase in the board is causing this voltage drops. |

this Gigabye board doesn't seem to want to give up easily in overclocking RAM
DDR2 1483 MHz.

Re: Early look at Intel's P45 motherboards. [56k Warning!]
EP45-UD3R has a very good ability in overclocking RAM, it is not maxed out in its ability to overclocking RAM yet.
i just didn't want to push too much into the RAM, so these are only a Super PI 1MB test runs. and by giving the modules some more vdimm, especially with a better overclocking RAM, then DDR2 1550-1600 should be easily possible with this board. G.Skill F2-8500 HK 2x1GB @ 750MHz DDR2-1500 ![]() Kingston HyperX 9600 @ 750MHz DDR2-1500 and 760MHz DDR2-1520 ![]() ![]() btw, with this EP45-UD3R board, one of the easiest/best Everest's R/W/C and Latency results can be found at 500 FSB and memory multi 2.66x (DDR2-1333) and PL7 if possible. Re: Early look at Intel's P45 motherboards. [56k Warning!]
I have just flashed the 1406 BIOS on my P5Q Deluxe and it seems to be the first release ever with which the EPU 6-engine is not crashing the system.

1406 was out about 10 days or so ago, and some of Q9450 users have already reported that the stability problems are now improved or resolved by the 1406. |

Re: Early look at Intel's P45 motherboards. [56k Warning!]
personally, i didn’t seem to have issues with most of P5Q-D's BIOS files that i've been using, but it could be that because i've been using Q9300.
however, i've been seeing quite a bit of Q9450 users out there were having several kinds of stability problems for some time now. so i'm glad to know that the 1406 BIOS may help out with the stability problems ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Forum- 1103/1201/1306/1402/1403 BIOS Issues with Q9XXX (SOLVED)-> 1406 FIXES THE PROBLEM! Re: Early look at Intel's P45 motherboards. [56k Warning!]
I built a budget gaming system for my sister a few months back with a EP45-UD3R which impressed me so much both during the easy install and how simple it was to overclock it to high levels with ease. It made me jealous that the $120 board blew my $200+ 750i FTW out of the water and finally I decided to get one to replace this POS board with a EP45-UD3P.
It's kinda weird getting a new 775 board from '08 when i7's are all the rage but I just don't see the appeal when I can overclock the hell out of my system to hold me over for a while longer.
