My new ASUS p5q3 deluxe arrived! [56k Warning]

Well, really it arrived some weeks ago but I have just seen it
I was really excited about my new prize (Thnx DH and ASUS). This is how I found it

And this is what I found inside hehehe

The package is extremely beautiful and shiny. I have never seen a box like that (mainstream user). The best thing I noticed is that it isnīt necessary to move jumpers in order to clear or reset cmos, the mobo has two switches!!, incredible!

I open the case and this is what I find

There are a lot of cables and the omnidirectional antenna that let me use the wifi of the mobo

Even it comes with an optinal fan if you use a fanless solution or a water cooled one

And now, the board itself

I canīt wait to use it as soon as posible. Iīll buy the rest of pieces in two weeks and Iīll do a comparison between my Barton system and my new one

The board is marvelous, thanx again DH and ASUS

I was thinking about completing it with

ATI Radeon HD3870 -> 129€
2x1Gb DDR3 1333 -> 84€
Intel Pentium E2220 (2.4ghz) -> 74€
Arctic cooling freezer 7 pro -> 19€
and about 15€ for sending them
Total:321€

What do you think guys?, I know the components are worse than the mobo but I canīt really spend anymore, my limit is about 325€-330€. Of course, Iīm going to use it for gaming and I was thinking about overclocking the cpu.

i just got a P5Q Deluxe this evening as well.
a friend just purchased 2 P45 boards today, one is Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 and another is this P5Q-D and he sent this one to me first.

looks like a good board.

Fantasma, you may want to check out the product homepage at asus.com,
your board model may also has some new BIOS files available to downlaod.

Glad you like the board but please stay away from any Pentium Processor... get something which uses Core2... there are a bunch of cheap ones around. Also keep an eye out for cheap 4850s... much better than the 3870... hopefully the place you are buying from will have an offer on.

I have just mounted my whole system consisted of:
Intel pentium E2220 2.4ghz
2x1gb OCZ3G16002GK memory
Sapphire HD 3870 512Mb
Arctic cooling freezer 7

I have a lot of issues with this board and the ram, at the end I got it working (after tuning a lot of options) the FSB at 400 (multiplier 6) and the memory at DDR3 1333Mhz at 6-6-6-18 with a new bios (1103). I tried everything to get 1600Mhz but the timings of the mobo are so tight that itīs nearly impossible, at least for me. Anyway, at 1333Mhz is very fast, faster than other 1600Mhz combos out there

i also heard the P5Q-D DRR3 model used to have problem with DDR3 RAM compatibility to the max (someone at XtremeSystems forums has mentioned this).
glad to see you're now running it okay.

If someone has problems, this is my bios options (version 1103):
Multiplier: 06
FSB: 400Mhz
DRAM Frequency : DDR3-1333MHz
DRAM Static Read Control : Disabled
DRAM Dynamic Write Control : Disabled
DRAM Read Training : Disabled
DRAM Write Training : Disabled
MEM. OC Charger : Enabled
Ai Clock Twister : Lighter
DRAM Voltage : 1.80
All other settings : Auto
That worked ok for me, Iīm trying othe options to see if I can tight the timings a bit more, now trying running the memory at 6-6-6-18, it seems stable but I need some more testing
Update:
Iīm using cpu margin enhancement at "Performance", it seems more stable that optimized
