Bios problems
Hello, im new here and this is my first thread and i dont know if i post it on the right place but im realy running in some serious problems and i want help , here is my problem:
Well i wanted to install mac os X leopard on my pc , there is packs made for x86 pc version so i grabed one and burned it on dvd and installed on separate partition on my HD (i got one HD devided in 3 partitions , one is (C for my xp , there is installed , got some music and stuff , D for games and other data i got , and E wich i made for mac os and there i installed it ), so i isntalled it and after that i booted it up and than i had this : YouTube - Mac os x leopard login problem , so i asked one couple of forums and on youtube and they said i need to change my sata configuration from ide to ahci , and i realised that this should be done in the bios , ok so i restarted my pc and run into the bios to check if i can change it , and there i started to freak out , i couldnt find any options with wich i can change from ide to ahci or ahci to ide, so i dont know what is the main problem here , anyone can tell me , should i update the bios or anything else i should do ? My configuration is : Mobo: Epox EP-5EDAI CPU: CPU Type Intel Pentium 4 3200 MHz prescott 2M Ram : 2gb Chip : North Bridge: Intel Grantsdale i915P ; South Bridge: Intel 82801FR ICH6R BIOS : Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG system dat:04/28/05 Video Date: 10/25/05 HDD:Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 160 GB SATA-II Running XP pro sp3 , and i want to make from IDE to AHCI , please tell me what can i do and if i need to update the bios where can i find free updates , thank you! |

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!
The setting should be in the BIOS under the integrated peripherals. In there you should see something called on chip SATA device. There you should be able to change the mode setting. |
