msi X48 Platimun Back I/O panel
Some very basic questions
The back I/O panel...there are small tabs and large tabs hinged to panel. Are the small tabs are necessary to act as a ground and should remain? Some of the large ones can not remain because they would block the eSATA or USB port... is it ok to remove them? Assume that the panel side with the writing (describes the ports) faces the outside of the computer versus the inside? Thanks in advance

if you are refering to the little metal plates that are cut from the case, but still attached (not completely cut, there stiil is a small part of metal holding them to the case), then yes, remove them if they are blocking any of the ports the motherboard has. for example, most new moterborads don't have eaiter a serial or a paralel port (i.e. RS232 and LPT), so if your motherborad doesn't have those ports, but the case has a serial and paralel port metal plates (the serial ports should be in a shape of VGA port, except they aren't), then don't remove them. if the motherboard has them and the case has outlets for them (little metal plates attached to the case), then you should remove them. basicly, anything that is blocking any kind of port that the motherboard has and the case has outlets for it, should be removed.
