lexmark z53 drivers for windows vista

i have a lexmark z53 printer, my pc runs windows vista, can u help me with the drivers to make the printer work???

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

First I moved the thread to correct part of the forums.

Since the printer is discontinued product Lexmark has no Vista drivers on their home page. Basically your only hope is that the windows update has the correct drivers for you. Other wise you need to downgrade to XP or get a new printer.

I've been in the same boat re: my Lexmark X83 All-in-One since upgrading to Vista. Lexmark has no intention of providing Vista drivers for what they consider to be "Legacy" products.

I've run into the same situation with my UMAX 4000U legal-size scanner.

At present, the Lexmark is sitting on a top shelf unused.

The UMAX is connected to my XP Pro PC so that I can still use it.

For my printing needs, I'm using an HP DeskJet 1120C on the home network.

As it's been a year now since I upgraded to Vista...and haven't found drivers for these products, I believe it's a lost cause to continue trying.

I hate to recommend anyone to 'downgrade' to XP if you're already using Vista. But, you might consider 'dual booting' your system if you really need to use that particular printer and can't afford a newer one.

What really ticked me off was that Vista RC1 and RC2 DID have drivers for the Lexmark. But, when the final release came out, there was no longer any support.

why not try running a virtual machine in the background with XP SP2 installed on it, that way, you can install the drivers for the printer on XP and bridge the two connections of the physical nad virtual machine, enable print and file sharing, and send the documents to the virtual machine, and the virtual machine will route them to the printer

And, you've done this with these particular devices? Successfully?

well no, but it seems to work with my Samsung SP-2412 printer... it should work with those printers too...
