Moving Sata ii cables
THis is a real dumb question but since I am a novice at this and just assembled my first system 3 weeks ago I do not want to do anything stupid.
When I connected my HDDs to the MB I connected the two 750s in Sata 1 and Sata 2(not raid*) port and connected the 320 to Sata 3 on the board. The 320 has the OS and applications and the two 750s are for data only .... I have the boot sequence, floppy, optical drive then the 320. I gather that due to HDD physical connection, the Bio message shows the primary master as a 750, primary slave as the other 750 and the secondary master as the 320... Occasionally my bios gets confused and the boot sequence substitues a 750 for the 320(OS). I assume this is due the Sata 1 port connected to a 750 So after a long discourse my question is Can I simply switch the 320 Sata cable with the "750" cable on Port 1 ???????? ..Is it that easy? thanks in advance * Sata port 5 and 6 are hardware raid capable but are blocked by the second video card.

Re: Moving Sata ii cables
yes, it's that easy... just switch them
![]() you think your BIOS gets confused... wait till you hear what my BIOS does... hahahahahah ... sometimes it "forgets" to read the PATA devices... still can't figure out why .
