HP Scanjet 3500c drivers v2.0

I have just purchased an HP scanject 3500c but the bundled HP Photo and Imaging software and drivers are v1.0 even though the latest version is v2.0. There is no option to download there from HP.com and when I contacted HP regarding this, they told me that I could get the new version if I paid $ 15 + tax

Well, I am not willing to pay an additional fee for a program that already should have been included in the package. Does anyone know where to find the software? I have tried Google and Filedonkey but still no luck
