Re: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG BIOS Update

the motherboard is manufactured by ECS and the model is MCP61PM-HM (although on HPs site they refer to the motherboard as Nettle-GL8E)... it has an NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 chipset...

i found two links on HPs website for a BIOS update on this particular motherboard... here are the links:

Link 1

Link 2

personally, i would go with the larger file (the sp49011.exe file)...

the only downside to this update is that the BIOS update program works only on Windows Vista...

HP only assembled the rig... ECS is the manufacturer of the mother board, and those two links are the new BIOS for the board...

actually, those 2 links go to bios version 5.27 whereas my mobo has version 5.28 released 12/18/2008 and i cant find links to that bios.

i emailed hp about it and am waiting for a response.

on a side note, if you look at both of those links to 5.27, they appear to be the same version, but separately list 2 different issues they address. i find that odd. i would think 1 bios update to a same version would resolve both issues.

but i am basically trying to find a copy of my bios so i can use the award bios editor to unlock its hidden treasures. and of course, so i can flash it back if i mess up :P

Re: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG BIOS Update

Did you find update for BIOS? I have same on my HP and getting random BSOD after reinstall of Vista 32 bit. Not sure but hardware tests look good, so suspecting mobo issues....

Mirror 1

Mirror 2

both of the BIOSes have the same release date, but they differ in size, have no idea why they do... i would go for the sp40911.exe one... you would have to have Windows Vista installed in order to perform the update...
