Newegg Open Box Items
I'm looking at this motherboard to replace my defective Biostar motherboard. My question is. Are Newegg open box items worth it or are they something I should avoid? Anybody have any experience with them?

They are the same as any other open box, It's been returned, now seeing as I have returned things to new egg because I have had to change setups, I would say most of them are likely to be okay, however there is no garuntee they will not be DOA. As such, I would either recommend getting the replacement warranty, or making sure you know their RMA process (Which is quite simple and acceptable, as well as speedy) for me.

hey it's just a gamble... sometimes you get realy lucky... feel thrifty.... but i'll only chance open box stuff when it's something that just isn't likely to have something wrong about it and isn't big money...

But i've been bitten a few times.. so i just learnt to ignore any good deals that could be made out of open box specials. It just isn't worth the headaches

I agree, if you are a gambling man roll the dice. I personally stay away from the open box items.

i'd do open box only from a store i can walk into, but nothing online. at a store, i can have the open box product tested before purchasing. if it works, then i'll take it and the store should still have some kind of return policy with open box items.

I can't order open box online and have 30 day return policy cause usually the shipping will exceed that... quite often for them to even ship it out to me...
