Re: Asus P5N32 sli Deluxe crash

what kind of a mother board is it...? was it designed to run with 4GB of RAM at 800MHz...?

some more details would be nice...

He has a Asus P5N32 motherboard...And the closet mobo that comes up on a quick search is the SE edition... Here (P5N32 does not show up on the asus website)

It should take 8 Gig with out any problems.. (only if its the SE motherboard) if you do have the P5N32 SLI SE motherboard.I would falsh the bios to the 0901..

But Please Note: Make sure you do have a P5N32 SLI SE (Second Edition) board first.

Re: Asus P5N32 sli Deluxe crash

there is likely an issue with windows 32bit windows that he's trying to run... most likely one of the drivers is not compliant with addressing the full amount of addressable memory.... This has occured on countless systems with various devices that will instantly cause a BSOD if that amount of ram is present. In some cases even in a 64bit enviroment.

SO

Update the bios if possible.

and if that doesn't work... remove 2 gb of ram and see if it works.. if it works.... you'll NEED a 64bit OS most likely...

(2gb ram + 1gb video card = 3gb)

i think he'd run into a problem even with 3gb of ram and the video card....

Re: Asus P5N32 sli Deluxe crash

yeah, he didn't stated if it's a 32bit or a 64bit OS he is running on that rig... i assumed it was a 64bit one... sometimes the simplest questions are overlooked...
