asus striker ii extreme 790i sli ultra

hi all, i have a asus striker ii extreme 790i sli ultra but i cant seem to ubdate the bios?, it has asus EZ flash so i downloaded the update bios and put it on my memory stick, but it couldnt find anything, and it wont give me the option to do a cpu level up, it only lets be oc it 20% using the ai suite and i really dont know what to do now can anyone help??

Is USB set as the first boot device in your BIOS?

asus has a installer for your bios updates..

no i did not put the usb as my first boot device, i will try that thanks that could help alot, however my pc is now not working at all, it gets by the microsoft corporation loading thing, then the mouse comes up and i can move it, but nothing else happens? i tried clearing cmos, but nothing still, i will also try repairing it using my os disk and come back to you tomorrow

Then you will have to flash through EZ Flash in BIOS or with a tool booting from the USB stick. I would prefer having the system stable first before doing this though.

Are you able to restore default settings in BIOS from your O/C and run the system normally?

i had to do a clean install and am now just installing all the up to date drivers and making my system stable, then i will try EZ flash to update my bios, thanks for the help by the way, when everything is stable i will update on how the bios updates went, also in 3d mark 06 is it normal that my cpu in the cpu tests only gets 3-4 fps?

Cool keep us posted and yes the FPS on the 3DMark6 CPU tests are very low I get 1-2 on my E6550.

everything seems OK, except every now and again my computer will just freeze for no reason, like when i start up a game it will load then freeze, or just after the Microsoft corporation loading screen it will freeze and i then have to restart it. and thanks for the info on the 3d mark thing.
do you think i should just take it into a pc repair shop and ask them to check everythhing and update my bios?

Strange it's freezing up before you take it to a repair shop you could run some memory tests, etc on it. Don't do anything you are uncomfortable with the guys are here to help if you need it.

If you take it to a shop make sure it is trusted.
