Sad PSU compatibility (MA770-UD3)

Right, so I'm finally slightly upgrading my rig, but there's something puzzling me a bit.

I wasn't planning on changing my PSU (CoolerMaster RealPower 450W (RS-450-ACLY)), figured the power will do. I got the Gigabyte MA770-UD3, but failed to notice I got the 2nd revision of the board that uses the 8-pin EPS power connector.

Problem is, my PSU only has one 4-pin 12V extra juice cable, along with the 24-pin ATX connector.

So, my question -- would using the Phenom II X3 on this motherboard with the current PSU, only using ONE 4-pin 12V power supply cause any drama?

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't expect any problems at all there, but you can always see if the manual says something on the matter.

That's sorta the thing.
Apparently, the board should work without problems with the current PSU, but I'm just a bit worried 'bout the CPU.

I guess that as long as I don't intend to O/C it, I should be fine, yeah?

Oh you could do reasonable overclocks on that sucker too, no problem. Not sure what reasonable is for a Phenom 2 X3 is today, but they should be pretty good at it as they too benefit from the 45nm shrink. An X4 from the previous generation would have drawn much more power.

Ah, cheers for the comforting replies guys, really put my mind to rest!

Been working a lot lately so I didn't exactly get a chance at testing anything out yet, what a shame to see my hardware just sitting around doing nothing.
