Question about BIostar motherboard???

Hi everyone, i sotta needed advice about biostar motherboards. My friends laughed their pants off when they heard i had built ma pc with one. They alleged that Biostar mbs are cheap and provide the lowest life span of motherboards. Um rather concerned coz i recently wanted to upgrade to a new chip set(i.e to a core2duo processor)But my friends state that it would lower the chip's life span as well. All advice is appreciated,thanx...........

Re: Question about BIostar motherboard???

Well it probably wouldn't lower the CPU's life span unless the voltage goes insane.

However I do also think that Biostar motherboards are of rather low quality. For value motherboards I can only see myself buying an ASRock.

Re: Question about BIostar motherboard???

Not so long ago, I'd be worried about your PC too. Whenever someone approached me because of a problem with a Biostar motherboard and I'd Google the model, I'd find nothing but reports of more and more problems. But then I saw Biostar boards get a positive review here and there and I was puzzled. It turned out that they are capable of making very decent boards, but, for some reason, only the rock bottom of their offer was being imported to my country (it was similar with ECS). So not all of their boards are rubbish and if your system is running smoothly you'll probably be okay.

What are your current specifications?

Re: Question about BIostar motherboard???

I have to agree with your friend , I bought a Biostar MB and regretted , died in less than a year . I didn't even bother about going to the reseller to ask for a replacement. It is cheap but probably the worst one.

Btw , before the biostar MB I had a Gigabyte one " very efficient and not expensive also" lived for more than 3 years then died from PSU fault.
