front panel connectors -usb
I've got a friend with a real oldschool computer.
She is trying to connect the front panel USB ports to the motherboard. I know how this works, but not being able to see it for myself, it is hard for me to suggest something... knowing that when something goes wrong, it can easily go very wrong.

these are the pictures that she's send me.
Each cable has 2 connectors. One is a solid 4 pin connector.. along with a single pin connector.
There are 2 of these cables, for 2 USB ports.

any idea?
I probably know how to connect it, but I'm starting to doubt myself.

The side with the missing pin is usually GND, so the "pin one" side is +5v....... the extra pin is usually no connection so there's no need to worry about it. From the picture of the cable it looks like that extra plug would be a shield connection which is also GND but not necessary for operation of the port so I wouldn't worry about that either. It doesn't look like the board supports the shield connection anyways and it was probably a case "option"

if it were my own computer, i'd just try it out.. but this being someone elses...
