Alright guys back again with some weird problem ive never had! Ok so i just upgraded a servers' case (reg case, not rackmount) upgraded case fans aswell.. straight forward hardware transfer from old case to new one. There is two HDDs in there, its running Windows server 2003 (enterprise edition).. now the problem is it wont recognize second drive (both are Sata), and on the first one in Computer managment/disk management on the C: drive it says its online but it has a exclamation sign on it and says "Failed Redundancy" right under it theres another C: drive but this one instead of saying "raid 1" or "raid 0" it says "Missing" and right under it, it says "Offline". Now when i right click on either one.. it selects the "online" one up above and i can choose properties or "Reactivate volume" i select that, nothing happens. Any help will be great!
Thanks

Re: Failed Redundancy ???
need some specs on what raid controller you are using..
the only time i've seen something like this is when the drives have been swapped around by mistake (the identity of the drive is mismatched for what it was expecting initially..) I'm guessing this is Raid 1 correct? All the current files on the drive are working fine.... and where they should be? Should be able to go into the control panel for the controller and "rebuild" the array using the other drive that is offline.

When i took it apart to swap the hardware i made sure i didnt change the HDD order. Now im not sure if its running on RAID or not. in the First post i know i said RAID 0 and RAID 2 but after i posted i noticed it just said Disk 0 and Disk 1 and i think thats strange because there was something there about a mirror and removing mirror and also reactivating disk. Which i did remove mirror (not sure if that was a bad idea or not) and the first Drive C: went back to healthy and a normal state i assume, after mirror remove. the second drive stayed offline and missing then i Hit "Disconnect drive" rebooted and Nothing so now the C: is normal still has all information/backups from before and seemed to be working fine. Now i just5 have to figure out what i did with removing mirror and why its not showing up at all now. I do have to add though that during post there is an error that says "Unsupported hardware" and my guess is thats that second drive? Hopefully ya'll understand what im talking about lol cause i almost cant. Thanks

Re: Failed Redundancy ???
It sounds like you completely disable the Raid array ..... and managed to disable the port the hd was on.. or turn it off perhaps..
If it's an Intel ICHxR solution... it's relatively easy to do via the windows RAPID Storage control pannel... in there it should show up as disk 0/disk 1.... and then give you the image that it's combineing them into a raid 1 array... It should be as easy as right clicking the disable drive.. enabling it.. and then "rebuild array"... but i'm not sure how well this will work if you managed to delete the array.. All i do know is that Via/ati/nvidia/promise/jmicrons Raid solutions are total crap in making things easy and highly accessible not to mention i find they perform terribly and aren't so reliable.

Re: Failed Redundancy ???
Thanks for the reply Judas, looks like that machine is gonna stay the way it is. i brought it up to my client and since his primary backup on server didnt change, everything is running fine since case/fan upgrades he doesnt wanna mess with it lol
