pc-chips m925 8.0v
1.2gb Ram P4 1.6 Ghz my pc is working properly but when I put this card into the AGP slot, the pc will not start, or give any beep, and try setting the bios to boot to select the AGP as the primary, and removing all shared memory video chip integrated, but still does not work, I have no doubt that the video card is damaged but the truth is not. I wonder if there is any special configuration in the bios or at all will not work on this card. and apologies for my bad English but I'm not very good, thanks google translator XD and thanks to those who can help

Re: motherboard pc-chips and nvidia GeForce 5500 zogis problem.!
This statement didn't translate very well......

Another possibility is there were various levels of AGP slots and not all cards will work in all slots...... Which card is it and do you have documentation for the motherboard? EDIT: Okay I see which card you have in the title of the thread.... Sorry....... BUT do you know which level of AGP slot the motherboard has?

Re: motherboard pc-chips and nvidia GeForce 5500 zogis problem.!
my cousin gave me the card because he change of equipment and no longer needed more, this card was working properly in another pc.
My motherboard runs at 4X, and I've read that this video card 4X/8X, and auto adjusts it depending on the port that is placed |

It should auto adjust down to 4X, sometimes things don't work the way they should.
With the card in the system have you tried to start it with the monitor plugged into the motherboard VGA port? Even setting the BIOS the way you have it may still be trying to use that port. Have you ever used the AGP slot in the past with other cards?

If I've used an ATI Rage 128 Ultra and it worked fine, no need to adjust anything in the BIOS recognizes it automatically.

Re: motherboard pc-chips and nvidia GeForce 5500 zogis problem.!
Was the old ATI card just removed from the system so you could install this newer card? If not and it's been out for some time is it possible there's dirt or corrosion in the slot? Or if just recently removed does the system boot with it re-installed?
Does it boot with just the motherboard video? Are you sure the 5500 is being fully seated in the slot? How many other cards in the system? (sound cards, etc.) How many drives? Hard drives, CD/DVD rom, etc...... How good is your power supply? What happens if you have just the 5500 and the Boot drive and nothing else in the system? (no extras, just a minimal setup)

If you can't even get to the BIOS Setup or see anything at all that rules out drivers but that will be an issue if you get past this initial problem.
Have you tried both ports on the 5500....... I don't know which that card uses as the primary port.

Re: motherboard pc-chips and nvidia GeForce 5500 zogis problem.!
i found the solution, all I needed was to change my motherboard lol XD XD, got a MSI MS-7211 and it worked perfect haha, thanks for the attempt, my only explanation for it did not work on the other card is the port AGP version 2.0, this is 3.0 and works well.

Re: motherboard pc-chips and nvidia GeForce 5500 zogis problem.!
Good you got something working.... even if it wasn't the original board. Hopefully this one works better anyways, it should. Read up on AGP versions sometime and you will see how it changed specs over time, (speeds, voltages, key slots in the cards, etc.) There's really no saying this will work with that without trial and error in some situations.....
Anyways, enjoy the upgrade.
