just wondering what the fastest cpu is that will run on my msi p55-gd65.
And also if i wait, do you think there will be any faster newer CPU's coming out for it in the future? I'm running i5-750 at the moment, how well does it compare VS the fastest chip available for this mobo?

Re: fastest cpu on msi P55-GD65
It's always wise to check up on a motherboards official compatibility list, which should include BIOS version information. The i5-750 stands pretty well still, which is a good thing since Intel has abandoned the 1156 socket.

What does this do?

Re: fastest cpu on msi P55-GD65
The i5-750 is already pretty close to as fast as you can get in there. You could get a hyper-threaded or unlocked chip (e.g. 875k, iirc) but that won't net you anywhere near as much of a performance difference as, for example, buying a good cooler and overclocking your current chip.
There will be no new CPUs coming out for that socket, but the newer stuff isn't much faster, as mkk said.
