which asrock board??

I am considering between ASRock Extreme4 P67,

ASRock Extreme4 P67 GEN3 and ASRock Extreme6 P67.

they are allalmost the same price 5 bucks more or less.
What is the best performer here, features is not a big issue for me number of ports and etc. Im having 2500K!

Re: which asrock board??

the extreme6 has better power management, allowing for more stable power control to the CPU. This makes it easier to overclock.

The Extreme 4 GEN3 has PCI-E 3.0 ready slots so you can upgrade to future Ivy Bridge processors when they are released. This is the best for longevity between the two boards.

if you can get the ASRock Z68 Extreme7, you will have a longer lasting board though with good overclocking ability.

Re: which asrock board??

I was under the impression that you could use IB CPUs in non-PCI-E-3 boards with a UEFI update (though obviously not benefit from the bandwidth of PCI-E 3)?

Re: which asrock board??

Thanks for the reply!!
The Extreme 7 would be a nice option but I am afraid it is over my budget now!! Probably in these terms your advice is p67 Extreme6 or ????

I was leaning more to p67 because you can have gen3 on p67 board!!?? The virtu stuff and srt didnt attract me so much,do no whether it is good thinking for the longevity.

Maybe it would be smart to go with some cheaper board now and then switch to Z7x series for ivy when it comes, but is it worth of waiting, or is it better to stay with something like Extreme6,or E4gen3.
Obviously there are many boards now and still to come so Its hard to choose!!
Your thoughts on this???

Re: which asrock board??

Thanks!! Just one question more!! What is your opinion about Z68 Extreme4 Gen3. Some reports stating it is unstable, has driver issues, sounds like risky thing to buy and where would you put it regarding performance in comparison to above mentioned boards???
