Giant 2 cooler killed my A7v8x :/ Just bought a ChainTech ZENITH 7NJS Ultra Nforce2

Ok i was dumb i tryed putting a thermaltake giant 2 cooler on my case on my a7v8x turned the system on and BOOM
i didnt hear anything at all and the system was still running lol but there it was that burning smell when that hits your Nostrels your in a hole world of pain.......

dead board :/ lucky enough all my components and hardware where lucky and survived inc cpu and ddr

ok now i went to my local PCWORLD looking for a good motherboard i was after at first the A7n8x Deluxe but then i cought a glimse of this MONSTER in a box bigger than my car.

the pc attendent said that this was there most powerfull and rich fetured motherboard in there store at the time. so i bought it for £130

got home and WOW this is a beast lol ok my question is i have a few poblems infact i have a shit load a problems :/

Installation went smooth.

i placed my ddr in slot 1 and slot 3 for ddr support
on bootup it said Duel channel Enabled.

now i flashed the bios with a bios from the chaintech support site.
called :7NJS0224.bin after extraction.

ok placed it on floppy in bin format and rebooted.
started my system up and pressed ALT+F2 with the floppy in.

and it AUTO overwriten my bios lol and i didnt press anything then after the flash it rebooted my system
then i got a blank screen :/ not a good sign then i shut down and started the system up and everything was ok again........

ok next problem is.

i dont get any hardware acceleration in windows xp pro ? under dx diag i have reinstalled dx 9.0a numours times and also reinstalled the omega drivers. still does not work :/

ok next problem is .

i cant seem to figure out why my cpu amd xp thoughbred 2200+ is listed as compatible with this motherboard but the motherboard cant detect its defaults correctly. :/ at the minute its running at default 1800ghz
displayed on bootup as 2200+

but the frequencys are way odd : to get that i had to run my system in this configuration :

CPUID IN WINDOWS INFORMATION.

Internal Clock :1804.08 MHZ
System Bus : 267.27 MHZ DDR
System Clock :133.64 MHZ
Multiplier : 13.5x

now i downt understand why its being like this ? could i have flashed with older bios ? and could this also be possible why i have no duel channel ddr enabled anymore ?

what do i need where do i get what i need i have never had a nforce 2 motherboard befour :/

need to know what to get and where to get them and there latest versions /

after i fix these problems then i have one final problem and thats the CBOX3 its displaying random shite and not displaying the correct info .....

A 2200+ chip is suppoed to run at 1.8GHz. AMD uses a performance rating scale to measure the chips speed. It is about equal in performance to a 2.2GHz P4b chip. (The P4c chips threw off AMDs whole scale)

i fixed the chip problems

i was i forgot to change the jumper on the motherboard so it identifys the chip as a 133/333/400 chips at default it was only at 100 chips LOL but i still have a lot a problems that need fixing but know one seems to know what im talking about.

This is the first time I've seen this thread, not everything moves in a matter of minutes in the world, even the online one.

First off: What exactly remains a problem? What have you fixed and what still doesn't work?

Second: For the hardware acceleration, go into the device manager and uninstall and reinstall the video card there, then install the dx9a and catalysts and see if that fixes it. Also make sure that the integrated video (if any) in the nforce is disabled and it knows to use the AGP slot in the BIOS.

ToshiroOC all the problems are fixed now the texture acceleration problem was due to not installing any Nforce 2 drivers LOL i didnt know i had to install nvidia stuff only thought those where for graphics cards :/ the only remaining problem i have is the CBOX3 and you probly wouldnt know what im talking about lol i think i screwed up somewhere on its installation but for the hell of it i cant see where i went wrong :/ i started up digidoc and its ment to show my temps in the cbox3 but it only displays one of the numbers its ment to show both and sharkims i had to remove the thermaltake giant II wich was a shame i have it for sale to anyone in the uk who wants it. £15 and you pay the delivery...
