I'm out of things to try here and its getting really annoying. I set the memory divider in the BIOS to 2:1(DDR 400) but the memory still runs at DDR333 mode. I have OCed the cpu clock to 222MHz but the mem runs at 368MHz which means its OCing from 333MHz. I'm running the recommended mem slots for when using PC3200, but still no go. Could it be a bug in the BIOS? I've seen a review of the board at amdmb and they had DDR400 working fine
This is on a Asus K8V Deluxe. Thanks much for any ideas. |

Is there a setting for SPD?
In my BIOS I can set it to 100% or SPD. Perhaps try a user defined setting ?

Yeah, these new boards have a lot of confusing options and the manual explains nothing. But yeah, I tried the Auto setting and its the same, I even specify DDR400 and it still runs at DDR333. I just don't get it, WTH could it be? It is PC3200 mem I'm using for a fact. Thx for the reply FM.

Well in order to get ther RAM to run in Sync with the FSB you need to make sure that it aint set to Auto.
If there is a defined setting for 100% or SPD then that will run iin SYNC. If there is an opotion to set the CPU to aggresive then also give that a shot. I always adjust the FSB to 200 and then set the CPU multi to 11, then punp up the FSB in 5's. The whole time the mem is in sync though. * Just make sure though that nothing is set to Auto. If the AGP freq can be set to 66 do that too.

hey thx bud, but nothing is setup like on the nF2's. I do not think its a setting but maybe a weird combo of what mem slots to use. I have posted at amdmb so hopefully the Asus experts take notice. This has definitely given me a headache for sure. Thx for all the help, I appreciate it

Well what I have found so far seems very interesting. It seems that the Corsair XMS PC3200 mem is really OCed DDR333 and that the northbridge is detecting it as such. I guess I'm screwed until a BIOS update fixes it; if it even does

Tried that but it gives a speed of DDR200 lol, very slow. But I really think it’s the way the mobo detects my ram. There are a few others that have the same problem with the XMS PC3200. I have it set to run at DDR400 but still chooses DDR333, it’s definitely hardware related. The following pic will give you an idea of what I'm working with.

It depends on the board/platform, but 1:1 seems like the best setting for most. Use the one that sets your mem to match the fsb. |

These new AMD chips and their memory settings.... I had the same problem, never was able to fix it either. However.... When I first got my board it insisted on setting it to 200 which when in doubt, I used CPUZ and it told me it was @400.

Yeah, they are very picky. But the Corsair guys told me that the old PC3200C2 mem I have goes by the DDR333 JEDEC spec and the board reads them as PC2700(the LL series does not have this problem as it uses 5ns chips instead of 6ns). I put in my old PC3700 and all is well, but I'm guessing anyone that buys that memory and any KT800 board is gonna be pissed off when they get home.
