Magic PCI Modem

All.

I have finally finished getting my new mobo installed and running properly (DFI LANParty Pro875).

For some reason, it keeps popping up that I have installed a PCI modem when I boot up. Sometimes its there, other times nothing happens. What is wierd is that this computer has never even smelt a PCI modem never mind had one installed.

There is no on board modem and no options in the BIOS to enable one so I'm perplexed. I don't know if this could be related to XP install picking this board up as non ACPI compliant (had to force XP to install as such)

I'm running XP SP1 all the latest updates as of today and the BIOS is also upto date.

Any ideas?

If it is in your hardware manager you could just disable it. Is it in there?

Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. It's weird. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the PCI bus lock as it seems to happen when running even 1MHz over 133FSB.

I'm not bothered about it being there, more bothered that something isn't quite right.
