Why dont people use Soyo mobos. My KT400 Dragon Ultra Platinum is the best board I ever had. I wouldn't trade it for any other board except maybe the KT600. It's an overclocker's dream.

My advice is...stick with Soyo. Frequent driver and BIOS updates, awesome support...though I had no need for it...never had one problem with this board. Great overclocking!

Just read the reviews, here's one:

KT400 DRAGON Ultra (Platinum Edition) Awarded OVERCLOCKERS' CHOICE!

November 25th, 2002

Upon first glance:
"The KT400 Dragon Ultra is essentially the Swiss Army Knife of KT400 boards. Look at the specs and you will find that it includes nearly every bell and whistle you can wish for: ATA133 IDE RAID (0,1,0+1), integrated 6 Channel hardware based audio, and integrated 10/100 Ethernet.
The board has 2 USB 2.0 slots, but it also comes with Soyo’s SB-K7VXBP Sigma Box, which adds an additional 2 USB 2.0 slots and CompactFlash plus SmartMedia readers. The Sigma Box, which is installed on the front of your case, comes with an adapter so that you can use it in either a 3.5” or 5.25” drive bay."

"Compared to the KT4 Ultra board, the hardware audio, supplied by the C-media CMI8738 chip, is very robust. While the KT4 Ultra has only 3 onboard audio plugs, whose functionality must be controlled via software, the Soyo KT400 supplements the 3 standard onboard audio plugs with an the audio expansion bracket. The bracket supplies center and rear channel outputs, along with BOTH optical and coaxial SPDIF In/Out."

Layout / Installation:
"The Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra has a very clean, very functional layout that’s got an answer to nearly every complaint a reviewer and user might have for clichéd layout problems. The board is very spacious; this is obvious after only a cursory inspection of the layout. What’s more, the RAM slots are far enough away from the AGP slot that you can add and remove RAM without having to also remove your video card. This is a major plus right there. The primary IDE slots are high on the board, placing them closer to your case’s drive bays, and the CPU has a nice clearance on 3 of the 4 sides. On the last side, there is a row of large capacitors. While the clearance between the this row of capacitors and our cooler was greater than what you’d find on other boards, I’d still say it was a little too close comfort. On the other hand, Soyo neatly sidestepped the biggest headache associated with rows of capacitors by leaving a gap right where the Ziff arm locks onto the CPU socket. Quite neat actually."

BIOS & Overclocking Features:
"There are a lot of BIOS features on this board. There’s a lot of tweaking that can be done, and not all of it is targeted to the standard overclocking enthusiast. The BIOS, in general, is very easy to use and very intuitive."

Conclusion:
"The Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra is a superb board with overclocking options galore. The flexibility for overclocking impressed us a lot, especially compared to the relatively sparse and limited options we found on the KT4 Ultra. In fact, we’re fairly certain that this board will accommodate most of your overclocking needs."

"The board comes with a superb collection of integrated peripherals. I am particularly glad that Soyo includes a full fledged 6 channel audio solution, complete with SPDIF in/out for coax and optical users."

"By the way, the pictures don’t do this board justice. If you’re a show-off, and you’ve got a decked-out case with a window, this board is really going to wow your friends."

Pros
- Very, very robust overclocking options
- can set PCI clock divider, up to 1/6
- excellent integrated audio, with lots of inputs/outputs.
- This thing looks freaking awesome!!! :P

Overall Score: 85

No cons listed there..honest!

BTW, forget the audigy, why waste money when the built in sound ROCKS !!!
I have logitech 4.1 speakers and I do have a comparison. I used on board sound from various motherboards including the AC97 and the SB16 sound card, and the sound sucks serious ass compared to this on-board sound. The bass is thundering and every microscopic sound detail is hear beautifully. The only thing it doesnt have is firewire...but i dont use it anyways so i dont card. U can always buy a firewire card. Also the RAID is 0, 1 and 0+1 <-- most motherboards dont have 0+1.

Well i did agree with you, but i had so many problems with mine and the ATI 9700 pro that i got rid of it. As for Bios updates they were slow to @ coming out. The board it self was nice if they had just got bios updates out faster. But i had mine almost a year ago to. Maybe things have changed with them.

Indeed they did. I must say, however, I've never had problems with them.
