*NEW* Mwarhead's 3.31a Remix Rebirth For Win2k/XP

So Why this release? Nvidia released seperate ide and audio drivers instead of providing a unified package. Plus they provided a sleek new installer that lets you select which drivers you want to install. This package also includes the better network drivers then the official. Newer Gart drivers then in the official UDP and newer SMBus drivers that have been obtained from leaked packages.

Audio driver version 4.31 (WHQL)
Audio utility version 4.31
Ethernet driver 3.39 (WHQL) + TOT.nvu
GART driver 3.43 (WHQL)
MemCtl driver 3.38 (WHQL) + TOT.nvu
SMBus driver 3.43
Win2K IDE 2.5 driver version 4.15 (WHQL) + updated nvuide.exe and txtsetup.oem
WinXP IDE 2.5 driver version 4.12 (WHQL) + updated nvuide.exe and txtsetup.oem
Installer version 4.31

Q&A

Where did the version number come from?

4.31 was the version number of the audio driver.

Why Remix Rebirth?

I did not release a 3.13 remix, plus the ability to chose the driver you want to install. So it's like the Rebirth of my remixes.

Judas are you the Judas Mirror on Mwarheads website. lol. That would probably be to much of a coincidence for you not to be.

Mwarhead good looking site man. I have been designing a site for a while. Nothing really big. Just a site for towers and tow trucks. It's alot of work trying to get a clean professional look like that. (for me anyhow) I wish I was still using an NForce mobo so I could use your drivers.

Speaking of which I don't think I have ever seen modded Via drivers. Are there any out there that anyone knows of?

There isnt that I know of, plus Via drivers tend to not have as many problems.

This is true. I will attest to that. I also miss having a Modded Bios selection. There are perks for users with bad support. lol

I tried out these drivers and they shure is better than the original 3.13 drivers, as far as I'm concerned. The thing that you can select what to install is very nice, since I don't need the sound drivers.
And the network drivers included have fixed the problem that the NIC gives a 0-4% CPU load when activated and idle. Now with the new drivers it's on 0% activated and in idle.

Curious...what is the best way to install? Remove current drivers...run Driver Cleaner...then do mwarhead's driver install?

i just ran install and are fine for me.but to state i have only had my msi k7n2 delta mobo with the nforce 2 chipset for around a week.very inexperienced with this board.

but i have seen a few posts about members having more problems after removing chipset drivers as opposed to overwriting them.

Downloading now- I think I'm just going to overwrite the old ones and see what happens. - I'm not using the IDE drivers though..

It is best to overwrite the existing drivers. Uninstalling and rebooting can kill your Windows Install. Happened to me before. If you do decide to use drivercleaner, I encourage you do a Ghost image backup first JUST IN CASE.

I noticed that the Nvmixer is a part of this set. Nice job man. That is a very useful program and solved a major headache I had a while back trying to get my TV Wonder to work properly. This NVMixer helped me solve the problem.

Happened to me too once- that's why I'm not messing around with uninstalling those drivers.

Man these drivers are awesome, my PC is noticeably snappier online and all around just faster... These are great. Anyone with an Nforce 2 should do yourself a favor and at least try these out to see what you think..

I just turned off firewall/AV, ran the installer and unchecked the IDE drivers- unchecked the audio drivers (no onboard audio used)- and let the things install. Rebooted and done.

i will second what bwx has just said.i have never seen any of my games run so smooth on my previous abit is7-e with a p4 2.4c cpu,9800pro.

msi k7n2 delta with a 3000+ amd barton cpu 1024mb pc3200,msi fx5900 256mb using 60.60 betas.

i am very pleased with this change of rig from just a week or so ago.

k so these are tweaked Nforce2 MB drivers? They'll work on an NF7 right? Also should I run his Nforce reset before installing these scince it seems to do what drivercleaner does in a sense so its a "fresh" install?

I would be very careful about doing that. I have had to repair windows in order to boot up after doing that, but it might be different for you.

I would just simply install over the other ones first and try that- If it doesn't work, then go for the uninstalling and using driver cleaner and whatnot for the mobo chipset drivers..

I would also roll back to windows IDE drivers and not install the ones from Nvidia- just my 2cents..

And make sure you don't install the audio drivers if you are using a soundcard other than the onboard one..

I just installed over top- then reinstalled my video card drivers and sound card drivers and everything works perfect..
