Did you try unmounting all your image drives and uninstalling your physical drives and restarting?

ive unsistalled physically the optical drives but not the virtual drives this occured after uninstalling Soldiers:heroes of WWII and running starforce uninstaller after a reboot it seems it would not play and dvds so i attempted to restart again but this time it gave me a funny model number then after another restart it gave me another then it changed back to normal then after trying to play a second dvd it occrus again.

I think you have a bad data cable - if the signalling for the drive NAME is corrupted, there's no chance of getting good data.
Make sure you have the trasfer mode set to AUTO, or I believe the correct mode is UDMA 2 / ATA33. Try the drive as Master, nothing else on the same data cable, and if using a 40 wire cable, try an 80, or just replace the cable. |

Update: i have not switched the data cables yet but for some reason it recognizes the drive when i boot one time then when i reboot it detects a different drive
![]() the actual drive name should be LITE-ON SOHW-812S not WOLW-852W and it recognizes as a cd drive not a dvd-rw |
