A8V rev 2 beta BIOSes

...has anyone else experienced this?

When I saw that the 1009.02 bios had come out, of course I ran out and flashed it (despite 1008.03 running just FINE for me...stupid... ). Things have been fine all week - running Media Player while downloading stuff and playing games (Battlefield; FlatOut; MoHPA; etc.) - all with no problems (like blue screens and/or crashes/restarts).

Until today, that is.

Now, I had a brief hour between classes/work to shower/eat so I thought I'd check my email and whatnot. So...I came in, turned the rig on and walked away to turn the shower on. When I walked back, I had a black screen...oh, well - I just hit the restart button and wasn't worried. Until I walked away and came back and it had restarted on its own all over again! Next thing I saw was the "Safe-Mode Option" screen which said "Last time Windows was shut down prematurely" or whatever. I finally got into Windows to take a quick look in the forums and see if maybe this was a common occurance and perhaps I just had a lucky problem-free week running this BIOS. I would never know, 'cause about one minute into Windows, I got a blue screen that said something like "Windows was shut down to prevent damage...check your BIOS...".

Then it restarted and said my overclock had failed and did I want to go into the BIOS and check it out (a common enough screen, but not one I'd wanted to see just then).

I managed to get into Windows long enough to re-download the 1008 (final?) BIOS fom the German FTP site and flash it back. It seems to be stable, but I'm not gonna be here long enough to be able to run any real tests. One thing I *did* notice: CPU-Z is NOT reporting the 1.50 volts I'm (supposedly) giving the CPU - it's saying 1.45, or thereabouts. Am I back to no voltage holding again? (See this post: http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82398) Also; is this "1008.rom" BIOS the same as the 1008.03 I used a month ago? Is there anything wonky with the 1009.02 BIOS? Is it me?

Any spec questions NOT in my sig, please ask me.

Yours,
Fester
