imo it's more down to system ram you have,as agp arp is the shared memory between gpu and onboard memory.many will say 128....but it's worth testing all settings to see which works best for youre system.

generally it doesn't matter too much fps wise. I keep mine at 128; if I go to 256 I get a little bit of stuttering in games.

Yeah it is very individual t your system. I notice that different games respond differently to the same aperture size. 128 seems like the best all-around choice. But certain games may like 256 more.

I have been experimenting with this BIOS option and keeping the AGP aperture size at 128MB or 256MB seems almost the same in performance, however lowering below 128MB or increasing beyond 256MB creates choppy fps in games.

Yes 128 is the best one to use.

Not for me. Less than 128 (i'm at 64 if I remember well) gives me great performance for the majortiy of games. Tough I should check a higher Aperture size again

It is probably under the advanced chipset options or something like that.

IT's a Gigabyte motherboard, by default, majority of the options are not available. Randy P, upon entering the bios HIT this key combination:
CTRL+F1 make sure you don't hit CTRL+F+1 (that isn't right, and i've seen some people do this )this should open up a whole new world to explore in the bios .... just be forewarned, be carefull what you CHANGE.....

Judas, will the aperture setting be in there?
More importantly is it safe to CTRL + F1 in the BIOS? What will happen, a new 'window' of options? Just being safe - you know how it is. |
