Need some help - beeping noises
I've built my new desktop, and it's been running for about a week.
(I'm using the Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE Motherboard) Either way, during use of my desktop, it starts blaring with police-like sirens. So I turn it off quickly. After doing that I restart my computer. Again, more blaring. The screen freezes at a startup mode and freezes listing my ram. To be exact it says, on the line it freezes on, "Host/DRAM Frequency is 133/" Also, my motherboard has this POST display. It stands for a Power-On-Self-Test. It reads out, while my motherboard has frozen "3.9." In my manual that means - Test DMA Registers I have really no idea what that means and wonder if anyone could help with that. Furthermore, while in the blaring status, the fan on my CPU Heatsink just stops. Absoultely still. If anyone has any help whatsoever with my situation it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you need any other information about my crisis, I would gladly supply it. |

Almost sounds like your power supply is faulty or isn't pushing enough juice. I've heard that sound on a Soyo mobo when the PSU went bad.

well in the bios is a feature called q-fan if you have this on your board turn it off. what it does is slow down your fan or even turn it off acording to cpu temps. now with that said if the fan on the cpu gets below a certain speed it will cause an alarm. http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/...es=1&model=239 well if your memory is at 133 your are not getting your 800 fsb it needs to be 200 mhz and it does take ddr2 not ddr type memory

Yousaif - I'll try another PSU, that might just be my problem
Lchevy79- I don't think my ram speed is only 133. I'm using a 512mb Corsair XMS2 stick. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...145-538&DEPA=0 ^That's the link to where I bought it. I'm still attempting to find this "Q-Fan" that you mentioned. Right now, I think it's probably the best candidate for what's causing the problem. Thank you for all the help! |

okay, it's been a long time to update -
heres whats happening : have a new psu (500Watt) - more then enough for this machine - didn't solve the problem I think the problem is in the RAM. But the problem is that I can't access BIOS. When I turn on my computer (Delete is the button to press) I press Delete instantaneous and it still just goes to that frozen spot where it says "133". Quite frankly, I'm just praying to get two minutes inside bios. |

Know this was posted above but if you have some type of thermal throttling or fan control the fans can run below the minimum fan speed. This drove me crazy until I discovered it. Would provide a solution to the inaccurate bus speed.

yeah, but when I previously had access to the Bios - I searched around and could not find anything relevant to a CPU Fan Disable/Control/etc.
appreciate the help though |
