I was your going to be over clocking the FSB. Also in that case I would of recommended the DFI board that’s been makeing and breaking records…But asus has always been good to me... AS for buying another 6800 to put in SLI I hear driver / game support is still touch and go but it’s been improved and they continue to improve it. You might hold off and see what they offer for the next refresh. Or wait and see if the prices drop… If you do go SLI make sure you've got a good power supply.

As Neon Cowboy pointed out, make sure you have a solid power supply; the 6800GT sucks alot of juice, especially if you go with SLI.

2 6600GT in SLI should in theory work better than a 6800 GT but why spend the same amount of money or more, on two cards when one can get the job done.
Probably not worth it. Save up for another 6800. |

don't get the ASUS A8N-SLI Delux MoBo. A friend of mine had that board, it gave him nothing but problems, and it eventually died. He replaced it w/the DFI-SLI Ultra board and it's about the same price as the ASUS board.
As far as video cards go, get the 6800, because as stated above, you'll spend the same amount of money for two 6600GTs as you will for one 6800GT. Besides, when you run in SLI mode, you wil have a total of 128Mb of useable video memory (if using 6600GTs) even though you have a total of 256Mb of video memory across two cards. And if you go w/the two 6800GTs, you'll have a total amount of 256Mb of usuable memory even though you physically have a total of 512Mb of memory across the two cards. |

Chipset cooler on mine keeps so loud noise(rotates 8,500rpm and is broken now), so I unplugged it and works wonders. This ain't the greatest of all boards as for heavy overclockers, but good enough for most of the people. Good for overclocking but not the best. No problems this far(other than chipset fan). I recommend.
I'm traiding my Asus EN6600GT with Gainward GS XP 6600GT because it has as well broken and noisy gpu fan. Asus does everything good except coolers, that's my honest opinion.

ASUS A8N-SLI is an ok motherboard from what I've read, but I'm not into the whole spending over 50% of my entire PC budget on video card technology.
I would recommend the ASUS A8N-E Deluxe instead, if you intend on getting an ASUS Mobo. DFI NF4-Ultra D has been well, I mean really well, received by reviewers and overclockers alike. I'm holding out for that board when AMD64 dual cores hit
