Dial up modem - internal or external
Ok here's my question:
Is an external modem better than an internal? I think it is, but im not sure… my dial up connection atm is really playing up and i have a feeling its the modem

if you can find a hardware internal PCI modem (US Robotics) that us a PURE HARDWARE modem and not some POS semi hardware software winmodem. (really hare to figure out..) they are the best... just as good as a external.
If you can find a USB external modem.... then it might be best.... (PCI going bye bye soon) Most externals are serial though.... which is pretty much nonexcistant soon... i don't have any actually.

Currently I'm browsing on my new internal U.S. Robotics modem... I only chose it instead of an external modem because of the space it will (not) take up.
Any good serial modem should be equivalent in performance to any good internal modem, it's mostly just a matter of preference.
