Hard drive problem

I had windows 64 installed and it drove me mad after struggling with it for a little over a year. I had two hard drives on XP 64, the OS was installed on C and I used G as a storage device, both were NTFS. When I installed 32 bit (dual boot with 64 XP) G is no longer visible in My computer. Under computer Management It shows drive G but instead of displaying it as Basic and online, it displays Dynamic and unreadable. If I right click and click "convert back to basic" it tells me that I will lose all the information. What is going on?
