depends if that x800 is a pro or a xt or whatever... if it's a pro, no problem, if it's more, than ya, a slight bottleneck

Is the X800XL much more expensive than the vanilla X800? From what I've heard, they're worth the extra dimes.

i was going to buy a geforce 6600gt but then i saved some extra money and bought that vanilla x800 .i know that the x800 xl is much better specially for having 16 pipelines but the vanilla x800 is all that i could afford.

4 memory moduals isn't ideal. Chances are good (though not certain) that you'll have to run them at a 2T command rate, which has a noticable performance hit...

no, he's not saying that. he is saying that when you have all 4 memory banks used up, that you have to run your memory at the 2T command rate which is a noticable hit in performance. Using 2X512Mb modules would be much better performance wise when running 1Gb of RAM than 4X256Mb modules.

its really not that much of a hit.
Actually truth be told it ISNT noticable at all unless you're using Sandra. You *might* see a FEW FPS difference in farcry or something but chances are you'd never notice.

![]() Your Venice chip should overclock better though. Also, a Winchester will have a lot of problems running 4 sticks of ram at full speed, I'd stick with your Venice.
