Cat 5e network problem
Hey guys, the other day i bought 250 ft of standard unsheilded cat5e cable.
It came as a kit with the crimp tool, terminators and test tool. I made a huge cable around 100ft (to go from router to pc), yet when I try plugging it into a computer with a standard 100baseT adapter at one end, it does not work (Limited or no connectivity error). Yet, when I plug that same end into a computer with a gigabit adapter, it works fine. From what I've read you should be able to run 100m (328 ft) of cat5e with no problems. but for some reason I cant do anything over 30 ft using a standard 100baseT adapter at one end. (tested a laptop, a pc, a hub... no good - they all work fine with shorter cables) I think it may just be cheap wire, but I dont think thats a good explanation. Any help guys?!

did you connect the cable correct? These cable need to be connected in certain way in order for it to work, check online to see if you have the lines connected correct.
