exclamation Did i got screwed by ABIT? (AN8 ULTRA)

Ok here is the story:
i just bought a Abit AN8 ULTRA motherboard.
When i got to analayse the physical layout better i had a surprise.
On the PCB there is printed with PAINT the name "ABIT" followed by a sticker that says AN8 ULTRA on it.
i removed the sticker and to my surprise it reveald JUST the word AN8 (not followed bye ULTRA) also written with paint on the pcb.
wtf? i wanted AN8 ULTRA not AN8, it has Q-OTES but i think rev 2.0 of AN8 has also Q-OTES.
i don't have a CPU right now to see if it is acutally an ULTRA (nforce 4 ultra) board
Is abit usinge the same PCB for the ULTRA boards and just use a sticker with AN8 ULTRA on it and sell it as ULTRA?
any comments on this?
sorry for my bad english

If you mean by paint, silkscreen then no. Abit probably uses the same PCB.

from a local store... doesn't matter
i don't know what "silkscreen" is. I mean the white "paint" that any manufacturer uses to write on the PCB.
how can i see if really is a ULTRA board?
the only difference from non-ultra is the Sata 2?
maybe i detach the coolet from the chipset to see what is writen on it...

Yes, that is what I'm talking about.

I would go to Abit's site, and look at pictures of both boards side by side.

AN8 ULTRA... had the word printed on the mobo by the looks of it.

regular AN8

AN8-V has a sticker though...

-maybe a new revision of the ultra has a sticker too. I would join the Abit forum and ask someone.. you will probably find the answer there instantly.

Yeah the heat-pipe northbridge cooler kind of gives it away too.

no there is no HUGE difference if the AN8 board is v2.0 cause it ALSO has heatpipe and looks EXACTLY like AN8-ULTRA.
anyway i removed the heatsink from the mcp (northbridge) and it says nforce 4 ultra... so it's ok.
i heard that is very common for manufacturers to use same pcb for a large series of boards like nforce 4 series.
thank you
